Multitalented personality, Mariano Otheguy brings to life the unique romance between his successful careers in Engineering Research and as a singer and performer. Born in Buenos Aires and coming from Spain, he has performed traditional Spanish and south American folk music in Japan, New York, Moscow or Beijing, where he enjoyed learning about the different cultures and musics of the world. His experience as a performer includes roles in Spanish Opera companies such as ´Carmen Cantero Zarzuela Productions´, ´Felix San Mateo Company´ and the ´Compañía Lírica de Madrid´. He has also been awarded as folk ensemble director in international festivals in Madrid, Portugal or the Netherlands. Recently, he has enjoyed the British scene performing with the vocal group VoiceQuad and also stage performances as Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas or Broadway musicals. In February 2008 he sang with the Northern Sinfonia in the première of the piece ‘Savannah’, by Sergio Camacho, at the SAGE Gateshead under the baton of H.K. Gruber. |
